Privacy Policy

JMPaul Development LLC ("we", "us") built the Cure Crystals app. The app is free to download and use, and offers optional paid auto-renewing subscriptions that unlock premium features. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The free version of the app may display advertisements.

This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information that we request will be retained by us and used as described in this privacy policy.

Some features request device permissions, and only work if you grant them. For example, location is used to find crystal shops near you, the microphone and speech recognition are used for voice search, and the camera or photo library are used only when you choose to identify a crystal or essential oil from a photo (see Photo Identification below). You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Photo Identification

The app can identify a crystal or essential oil from a photo. When you use this feature, you choose a photo from your photo library or take one with your camera, and the app crops it to a small square image (about 400×400 pixels). Photos are only collected when you start an identification; the app does not scan or upload your photo library.

The photo is sent to our AI service provider, OpenAI, to identify the crystal or essential oil. Depending on your app version, the photo is sent to OpenAI directly from the app or through our server, which may reduce the image size first. OpenAI processes the photo under its own privacy policy.

A copy of the photo is also uploaded to our cloud storage (Google Cloud Storage), where it is saved under the name of the identified item. We keep these photos to operate and improve the identification feature. You do not need an account to use photo identification, and we do not link photos to your name or email address. Please avoid including people or personal information in photos you submit.

To ask us to delete a photo you submitted, email us at jmp@curecrystal.com. Because photos are not linked to an account, it helps to tell us the approximate date you submitted it and what the app identified.

The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Advertising

The free version of the app may show ads served by Google AdMob, which may use device identifiers to deliver and measure ads. On iOS you will be asked for permission before your device's advertising identifier is used for tracking. You can limit ad personalization at any time in your device settings.

Subscriptions and Payments

Payments are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Our subscription provider (RevenueCat) receives purchase information such as the product purchased, transaction identifiers and subscription status so that your subscription can be verified and restored.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate our Service;
  • To provide the Service on our behalf;

We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to your Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
